Plain MDF |

Available in 18mm, 22mm, 25mm Ideal for painting The most popular thickness is 18mm, and is fine for most jobs. We use MR (moisture resistant) MDF. This is considered a better board for painting and is identified by the green dye added for identification. MDF can be painted with commercial 2 pack paints, cellulose, and also common household paints. Unlike vinyl covered doors, MDF doors can be trimmed when fitting. All styles are available in unpainted MDF. We give the panels a light sand after they have been machined; they will require further sanding before the first coat of primer. After the first coat the wood fibres will expand with the moisture and require a second sand. When applying the first primer coat we recommend that you paint both sides in a single session. Leaving one side unpainted for a period of time can result in the panels bowing due to uneven moisture content. |
